Muscle building runs close to its ceiling at 25 to 30 g of protein in a meal. Above that the curve flattens.
That is for young adults. Older bodies need more to get the same response.

Dinner gets loaded because of how meals are built
In Korean meals, meat and fish mostly show up at dinner. Breakfast is rice and soup, lunch is often noodles or a rice bowl.
The daily total may be fine, but an empty breakfast and lunch mean the muscle synthesis in those hours simply passes by.
Getting to 25 g at breakfast
- •2 eggs and 200 ml of milk: 19 g
- •150 g of Greek yogurt and a handful of nuts: 20 g
- •Half a block of tofu and one egg: 20 g
- •One bottle of a protein drink: 15–20 g
When mornings are tight, eggs boiled the night before are the fastest option. Two of them make 12 g.
The 30 minutes after training is not as urgent as it sounds
The idea that you have to eat right after a workout stuck around for years. The current view is that the daily total and how you spread it matter more.
A meal within a few hours on either side of training is enough.
A glass before bed changes your morning
Studies show 30 g of casein before bed raises muscle synthesis overnight.
Even so, fix the 5 g breakfast first. Fill the emptiest slot before you add anything.
