Where these calories come from
A bowl of steamed rice (210 g) is about 300 kcal — the baseline carbohydrate of a Korean meal. However lightly you eat the side dishes, the bowl of rice goes in whole, which is why it is usually the first thing people cut.
💡 How to cut it down
Leaving half the bowl saves 150 kcal. Swapping white rice for brown keeps the calories similar but raises blood sugar far more slowly.
